Cheese & Ham haloumi Slices


1. Whole wheat buns (or bread/bagels/pitas)
2. Couple of slices of Haloumi Cheese
3. Parma ham slices or princess tinned ham sliced thick is best (If princess tinned ham refrigerate for 1-2 hours Makes slicing easyer)
4. A dab of whole grain or dijon mustard
5. Mayo
6. butter (un-salted)
7. extra virgin olive oil


1. It doesn't get any easier. Spread your mayo on the bread of your choice (go light, not too heavy)
2. Add your haloumi slices (keep relatively thick)
3. Parma ham slices or princess tinned ham sliced (fresh is KEY)
4. Add your whole grain or dijon mustard (whole grain or is best)
5. Now just melt the butter in a pan with a little extra virgin olive oil until the cheese melts. A nice tip is to put a pan on top with a brick in it. Sounds funny I know but helps to seal it ( tin foil he brick for that hygienic approach.
6. If you have a sandwich toaster, or grill you can use this but will miss some taste, ( mix the olive oil and butter together and spred on the outter sides of the bread before you gril or use a sand which toaster. But trust me fried is much better.
